W dniach 23-24 listopada 2016 r. odbyła się konferencja naukowa „Kultura książki w humanistyce współczesnej”, objęta patronatem Konsulatu Honorowego Republiki Łotewskiej we Wrocławiu.
W trakcie konferencji przedstawiono dwa referaty, które dotyczyły literackich relacji polsko-łotewskich. Prof. dr Aušra Navickienė z Uniwersytetu w Wilnie porównywała dynamikę łotewskiego, litewskiego i estońskiego rynku wydawniczego w XIX wieku, mgr Krystyna Puntaka z Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego opowiadała natomiast o tłumaczeniach polskiej literatury na Łotwie po 1945 roku. Udział obu prelegentek w konferencji został sfinansowany przez Konsula Honorowego Republiki Łotewskiej we Wrocławiu Martina Kaczmarskiego. 23 listopada odbyła się ponadto uroczysta kolacja, w której wzięli udział organizatorzy i goście konferencji, w tym Konsul Martin Kaczmarski i pełnomocnik Konsulatu Szymon Makuch.

On 23rd-24th November 2016, a science conference titled "Culture of Books in Contemporary Humanities" took place with the patronage of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Latvia.
Two of the papers presented during the conference concerned literary relations between Poland and Latvia. Prof. dr Aušra Navickienė from the Vilnius University compared the dynamics of the publishing markets of nineteenth century in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, while mgr Krystyna Puntaka from the University of Wrocław presented the translations of Polish literature in Latvia after 1945. Participation of both lecturers in this conference has been financed by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Latvia in Wrocław Martin Kaczmarski. Additionally, on 23rd of November, a ceremonial dinner took place, with participation from the organizers and the guests of the conference, as well as from the Consul Martin Kaczmarski and the Plenipotentiary of the Consulate Szymon Makuch.
